Skyworks' CEO David J. Aldrich Named Ernst & Young New England Entrepreneur of the Year

Skyworks' CEO David J. Aldrich Named Ernst & Young New England Entrepreneur of the YearWOBURN, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 28, 2004--Skyworks Solutions, Inc. (Nasdaq:SWKS) today announced that president and chief executive officer David J. Aldrich has been named Ernst & Young 2004 New England Entrepreneur of the Year® in the Semiconductor category. Mr. Aldrich was selected from among 49 regional entrepreneurs who were honored at an event held on June 24.

Under Mr. Aldrich's direction, Skyworks has emerged as the industry's leading wireless semiconductor company focused on radio frequency (RF) and complete cellular system solutions for mobile communications applications. The company was created through the merger of Alpha Industries and Conexant Systems' wireless business in June 2002. Faced with significant operating losses at the time of the transaction, Skyworks has since completed a seamless merger integration, streamlined operations, gained market share, and achieved profitability. With the breadth and depth of its product portfolio, and engagements with virtually all leading cellular handset and infrastructure suppliers, today the company is well positioned to capture a disproportionate share of the wireless semiconductor market.

"I am extremely proud to accept this award on behalf of the entire Skyworks' team," said Aldrich. "Without the hard work and perseverance of all our employees, this honor would not be possible. We are well on our way to achieving our vision of becoming the premier supplier of wireless semiconductor solutions."

Now entering its 18th year, Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year® is the world's most prestigious business award for entrepreneurs. The award honors the most outstanding entrepreneurs who inspire others with their vision, leadership, and achievement.
