Skyworks' Green(TM) Portfolio Helps Its Customers Meet Environmental Guidelines Well Ahead of Deadline; Company Re-Affirms Commitment to the Environment
"As an industry leader, Skyworks is committed to protecting and preserving the environment in all its business operations," said Bruce J. Freyman, vice president of worldwide operations for Skyworks. "We understand that our actions today can have environmental impacts tomorrow. As a company, we have continuously partnered with our customers to meet their needs and ensure conformity to government directives and industry guidance, not only in Europe, but around the world. Our Green portfolio demonstrates our commitment to this important end."
Skyworks maintains a core environmental management system for all of its manufacturing facilities, which are certified to the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 14001:1996 global specifications. The ISO 14001:1996 standard specifies requirements for establishing an environmental policy, determining impacts, planning objectives and measurable targets, as well as implementation of these programs to meet established goals.
The aim of RoHS is to help protect human health and the environment by restricting the use of six substances within electrical and electronic equipment (EEE): Lead (Pb), Mercury (Hg), Cadmium (Cd), Hexavalent Chromium (Cr +6), Polybrominated biphenyls (PBB) and Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE).
Skyworks also offers Green products that conform to the EIA/EICTA/JEITA Joint Industry Guide Level A guidelines and are free from antimony trioxide and brominated flame-retardants.
