Skyworks Powering Sony Ericsson's Ultra-Slim and Stylish Walkman(R) and Cyber-shot(TM) Handsets; Power Amplifiers and Front-End Modules Leveraged Across Multiple, High-Volume Models Spanning GSM/GPRS, EDGE and WCDMA Air InterfacesWOBURN, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 16, 2006--Skyworks Solutions, Inc. (NASDAQ:SWKS), an industry leader in radio solutions and precision analog semiconductors, today announced that it is ramping volume production in support of several current and forthcoming Sony Ericsson handsets, including the highly popular W810 Walkman® music phone and the Cyber-shot™ digital camera models. Leveraging proprietary technology, Skyworks is delivering power amplifier (PA) and front-end module (FEM) solutions to Sony Ericsson spanning several key air interfaces, namely GSM/GPRS, EDGE and WCDMA.

"Skyworks is pleased to be expanding its partnership with Sony Ericsson in support of such a compelling lineup of new models," said Liam K. Griffin, senior vice president, sales and marketing for Skyworks. "Our ability to deliver higher levels of integration and functionality, while reducing form factor and overall bill of materials, enables customers to capitalize on market demand for handsets which are both multimedia rich and uncompromising in their design. At the same time, Skyworks is significantly increasing its addressable content as we move in concert with Sony Ericsson to support solutions across GPRS, EDGE and more recently WCDMA."

The W810 Walkman® digital music player, with EDGE capability, contains a 1 gigabit (Gb) memory stick for 20 full-length audio CDs, a stereo headset for quality listening, an FM radio with radio data system (RDS), a high-performance autofocus 2 mega pixel (MP) digital camera, and short message service (SMS) text messaging. Bluetooth™ or Multimedia messaging is also available for sending video, pictures, music and text. The W810 incorporates the SKY77329, a PA module designed in a compact form factor for quad-band cellular handsets. With its custom CMOS integrated circuit, the module provides the internal PA control function and interface circuitry, providing envelope amplitude control by reducing sensitivity to input drive, temperature, power supply and process variation.
