Skyworks Appoints Stan Swearingen Vice President of Cellular Infrastructure and Wireless Data Business; Brings Substantial Semiconductor Industry ExperienceWOBURN, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 11, 2004--Skyworks Solutions, Inc. (Nasdaq:SWKS), the industry's leading wireless semiconductor company focused on radio frequency (RF) and complete cellular system solutions for mobile communications applications, today announced that Stan Swearingen has joined the company as vice president and general manager of the company's Cellular Infrastructure and Wireless Data business unit, which includes discrete and passive semiconductors, GaAs switches, ceramic products and multi-chip modules supporting cellular infrastructure and wireless data markets.

Swearingen most recently served as vice president and general manager of Agere Systems' Computing Connectivity Division where he was responsible for the design and manufacturing of wired and wireless connectivity solutions. Prior to Agere, he served as president and CEO of Quantex Microsystems, a direct provider of personal computers, servers and Internet infrastructure products. Swearingen has also previously held senior management positions at National Semiconductor, Cyrix, and Digital Equipment Corp. He fills the management position created when Greg Waters assumed leadership of Skyworks' Cellular Systems business earlier this year.
